Stella Norrby

While observing nature unfolding in the garden, Sylvia my cat is everywhere.
I have made her in solid clay as I am stuck by this new experience of her weight on me.
It is called "Hold" as she has a way of holding me down when she is on my lap.
She is also known by the title of, "what soothes me". I am beginning to see the duality and alternatives in certain pieces of my work as they are brought together. They tell their own story.

There is a balance happening between the made pieces and the photographs. In the editing I am trying to draw more clarity out of the subject or object, its identity, emotion and feeling.
In my surroundings I see the repetition of working the land, the toil, the virtue, and the over working, the effects on the body and the land.
